I've been a trainer for over a decade, specializing in powerlifting, bodybuilding, and general athletics. My clientele has consisted of emergency professionals, healthcare workers, armed forces members, and minor athletes, but I've had the privilege of working with people from all walks of life and of every age. Whatever your history or current struggles, I look forward to helping you achieve a new height of physical, mental, and emotional health.

Many people see me in the gym or out running and assume I've always been a 'natural'; that isn't the case! It's taken years to reach that 635-lb deadlift, 315-lb power clean, 525-lb back squat, 325-lb bench, 250-lb strict press, 48" vertical, 6-minute mile, and 2:25 PARE. While I've always enjoyed some activities, I was never much into organized sports in my youth. I only discovered the joys of martial arts in my teens and those of weightlifting and athletics in my early twenties. Then, my time as an RCMP officer reinforced my love of lifting and fitness, and showed me how exercise and a healthy diet can drastically improve one's mental and emotional health.

As a trainer, being aware of "what works" and "what doesn't" is crucial. Plenty of trainers can give you a few exercises to do, but I've seen too many who have no clue how to teach, demonstrate, and correct - let alone how to develop an effective program. My background in psychology has taught me to trust the scientific process. Science has demonstrated what is and isn't effective regarding exercise and nutrition. There are no secrets or magic solutions - at least not if you want to make improvements naturally without risking your health with medical procedures or steroids. Hard work, commitment, and a desire for change are all you need, and I can be your guide.

While I think fitness should be part of everyone's program, I understand if your goals are completely unrelated. You may want to improve your psychological wellbeing, improve motivation to achieve your academic or professional goals, find more or a different meaning in life, or kick an addiction or unwelcome habit. Any of these and many related issues or goals may require one-on-one counselling. While I am not yet a certified therapist (working on it!), my undergraduate and extensive extra-curricular education, and experiences surmounting a wide variety of both positive and hellish life experiences provides me with a unique technical and relational skillset many clients find helpful. If after consultation, it seems as though you would benefit more from a certified therapist or from psychiatric treatment, I will respectfully decline to be your guide or helper until the appropriate treatments are sought. If, however, you do not require professional (that is, registered) counselling or medical services, I will be happy to do everything I can to help you surmount the psychological or spiritual obstacles holding you back.
